Come and join us for a fun, creative session where you’ll get to design your very own time capsule!

When our new building was redeveloped in 2020, our builders made an amazing discovery – hidden deep inside a wall next to the Ark (the holy cupboard that houses the Torah Scrolls) was a time capsule from 1873, sealed inside a glass jar with its wax seal still intact. Today, this remarkable piece of history is on display in our museum.

Inspired by this incredible find, you’ll create your own time capsule filled with memories, messages and keepsakes for the future! Bring along a favourite photo or small trinket to include, and we’ll provide the capsule, newspapers, craft materials and everything else you need to leave your own message for future generations!

Perfect for families, this hands-on activity is a fun way to get creative while discovering the fascinating story behind one of our museum’s most extraordinary discoveries.
