Costume making project with the Royal Exchange Theatre

This summer the Royal Exchange Theatre will set up its eco-friendly mobile theatre, the Den, at the Ukrainian Cultural Centre from the 29 July – 6 August. For two weeks this unique pop-up theatre will host a wide variety of events from family fun-days to community shows, theatre, dance and visual art.

Watch the below video to learn more about The Den:

A brand new play about Cheetham Hill Road, made with local residents in M8 will premiere at the Den Festival. This Costume project is an opportunity to work with the Costume Department at the Royal Exchange, and help to create costumes that will be worn in the play.

Come along to a fortnightly session at the Manchester Jewish Museum to dream up and help create new pieces of costume that will be worn on stage in the play at the Den festival.

Sessions are running on the below dates and times:

  • Thursday 9th June 4pm-5.30pm
  • Thursday 23rd June 4pm-5.30pm
  • Thursday 7th July 4pm-5.30pm
  • Thursday 21st July 4pm-5.30pm
