Do you want to join a new group, meet new people and learn new skills? Are you nifty with a needle or can spin a good yarn?

Our Women’s Textile group is a great place to make new friends and practice your textile craft. Working with different artists and guest speakers, the group works on a variety of projects.

We are just at the beginning of an exciting new summer project working with Turner-Prize winning artist Laure Prouvost on a new installation for the museum in collaboration with Manchester International Festival, so if you would like to join us this is the perfect time.

New members are incredibly welcome – meetings are every two weeks (online for the time being) and we are a friendly group open to any self-identifying woman, no sewing experience necessary!

Related Events

Our Song-writing Group meet fortnightly to work with amazing composers, singers and musicians to create new music inspired by the stories in our collection. Perfect for anyone who like to sing, write lyrics, play an instrument or just get creative.
