Our Song-writing Group meet fortnightly to work with amazing composers, singers and musicians to create new music inspired by the stories in our collection. We use stories from the museum’s archives and from our own lives as inspiration to write songs together.

We are currently working on an exciting international project called ‘A Song A Life’, where our group will become musical pen pals with two similar groups in Denmark. Together the groups will work with Manchester-based composer and facilitator Michael Betteridge to create something really special together for an online music premiere in August.

Anyone is welcome to join us in making music, writing new songs and sharing our love of music with our European friends. Perfect for anyone who like to sing, write lyrics, play an instrument or just get creative.

No previous musical experience necessary.
