Unfortunately we have had to cancel this event due to building maintenance and in response to rising COVID infection rates. The museum will reopen on Tuesday 4 January and we will be offering more family activities in the new year.

Roll up your sleeves and join in our Challah baking workshop with a seasonal twist! We’ll be adding in spices and dried fruits to give your taste buds a boost in the winter.

In the workshop you will be baking Challah bread – a traditional Ashkenazi Jewish bread that is braided and traditionally eaten on ceremonial occasions such as Shabbat.

Our baking workshops are open to children and adults alike to try out baking traditional Jewish breads. Discover the history behind Challah baking as you get hands-on in our brand new learning kitchen. Bring a friend or your family and enjoy baking together.

No experience necessary – perfect for baking beginners. You even get to take home what you bake as well as your own recipe card! (or you can buy your own treats from our café).
