Would you like to become a Museum Foodie? Our Foodie Group meet monthly to discuss, cook and eat food inspired by stories from our collection, artists and events we programme, as well as our own members’ heritage and backgrounds. Our workshops are informal, chatty and a chance to meet new people as well as learn about new recipes and cooking traditions.
This month, as part of the Cheetham Fest, we will be meeting for a Rosh Hashanah bake off. ‘Rosh Hashanah’ or ‘Jewish New Year,’ will be celebrated between the 25th and 27th September this year.
During Rosh Hashanah Jewish people bake and eat sweet treats to bring in the start of a new year and wish one another a ‘sweet,’ healthy, happy year ahead. Our ginger cakes and other sweet treats will be a playful nod to this tradition.
Discover the history behind this special holiday as you get hands-on in our learning kitchen. Bring a friend or your family and enjoy baking together.
No experience necessary – perfect for baking beginners and seasoned pros. You even get to take home what you bake! (and you can buy your own treats from our café).
We encourage you to book online, give us a call or ask a staff member at the welcome desk to book you in to secure your place.
