Why: The Great and The Grand is inspired by Dynamite Island’s show Rendezvous in Bratislava, which toured the UK in 2018. Rendezvous in Bratislava is a contemporary cabaret about theatre-maker Miriam Sherwood’s granddad, whom she never met. He was a dramaturg, satirist, collector of jokes and writer of cabarets, born in Czechoslovakia in 1913 and died in Munich in 1981. You can watch a trailer and find out more about the show at

By taking part in The Great and the Grand, you will be given a free ticket to see Rendezvous in Bratislava at the Lowry on Saturday 14th March 2020
