25th Anniversary Exhibition

"These are a few of my favourite things"

Manchester Jewish Museum is celebrating its' 25th Anniversary this month with a truly unique exhibition.

Those who have been important to the Museum have been asked to choose their favourite item from our extensive collection. This gives visitors the opportunity to see items that are usually in storage.

In ‘My Favourite Things’ we are displaying the Dora Black Baby Book, the Harris House Diary and tools of a sheitel (wig) maker just to name a few. Visitors can listen to the oral histories of Holocaust survivors; see a wedding chuppah and see many photographs from our wonderful archive.

A timeline has been produced tracing the building’s history so visitors can discover how and when the Museum was formed, with images of its transformation together with the history of the synagogue and its founders.

It will be a memorable exhibition which opens to the public on 24th March and runs until 27th May.
