Bob Moore, eminent professor from the University of Sheffield, is coming to the museum on the 6th of May in conjunction with the Anne Frank and Family exhibition. Professor Moore is a leading expert and researcher into the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands.
This evening will provide an insight into the story behind the smiling faces in the photographs. Whilst the snapshots were being taken Otto, Edith and their two daughters, like every Jewish person in Holland, were being told when to shop, who to talk to, when they could go out and generally having their freedom restricted and their dignity removed. Otto and Edith tried desperately to hide these hardships from their children.
