Manchester Jewish Museum is honoured to have Danny Scheinmann, the author of Random Acts of Heroic Love, visiting on Monday 30th June.
Danny Scheinmann will be spending the entire day at Manchester Jewish Museum. His debut novel, Random Acts of Heroic Love, which featured in the ‘Richard and Judy Book Club,’ has been translated into German, Italian, Polish, Dutch and Hebrew.
Danny is not only an author. He has been in numerous feature films, various television roles and acted with the English Shakespeare Company. He has worked with street children creating shows in Colombia, the Philippines, Cambodia and Vietnam. As well as acting and writing Danny Scheinmann also teaches storytelling and physical theatre techniques.
We are putting all his skills to good use! From 5-6pm he will be signing books in Borders at Manchester Fort. In the evening, from 8.00pm at Manchester Jewish Museum Danny will be discussing his novel, reading extracts from it and giving tips to any budding authors. He will explain the process from the initial idea or concept to publication. After this there will be a question and answer session.
His visit to Manchester Jewish Museum is especially fitting as he was born in Manchester to Jewish parents. During the day Danny will be working with school children. He will spend the morning, from 10.00am, with pupils at Key stage one and two and then the afternoon, from 1.00pm, with Key stage three and four pupils. These two sessions will be very interactive and Danny will share his passion for storytelling and writing.
The day event is FREE. The evening event costs £4.00 for adults and £3.00 for concessions. Call the museum on 0161 834 9879 for tickets. We hope that you can join us for what we are certain will be a fascinating and inspirational event. You may even be tempted you write your very own novel or screen play afterwards!
