The Cultural Collage World Music Festival proudly presents the festival's first 'Jewish Music Day' and we are delighted to be hosting one of the events.
Jewish Music Day will highlight the variety of traditional music within the Jewish traditions in the form of two events - “Cantors & Klezmer” here at the Museum in the afternoon and the London-based Ladino band, “Los Desterrados” at Manchester Reform Synagogue in the evening.
“Cantors and Klezmer” will feature three well-respected local cantors: Cantor Adam Caplan, Cantor Modi Spitzer and Cantor Natan Fagleman. The three cantors will present a concert which will blend various genres of Jewish music, including both classical and modern Cantorial pieces, as well as songs from the Chassidic, Klezmer, folk and Israeli music genres. There will be accompanying music from the Leeds-based “Fraylach Spielers Klezmer Band.”
2pm Sun 22 Sept.
