MJM is delighted to be hosting a talk by Jay Rayner as part of the Prestwich Book Festival. Jay is one of the country’s most vocal critics of how and what we eat in the 21st century .
Be entertained and informed as he explains his views, and talks about his latest book “A Greedy Man in A Hungry World”.
Restaurant critic and BBC One Show reporter Jay Rayner combines hardnosed reporting with witty memoir in his latest book. There are stories of growing up with an agony aunt and having a suit made by the man who dressed the PG Tips chimps. Jay takes you on a journey though the world’s edible landscape - from the terraced hillsides of Rwanda, to the corn fields of Illinois, to the killing lines of a Yorkshire abattoir. Along the way he debunks a supermarket trolley full of myths and shoots a lot of the food world’s most cherished sacred cows. Jay will change the way you shop, cook and eat forever. And give you a few belly laughs along the way.
