"Scenes around Us"

Scenes around Us is an exhibition by Hale artist Joy Altaras.
The exhibition consists mainly of Manchester scenes of people or groups of people going about their everyday working lives, people participating in sport, watching cricket or football or tennis.

“I like painting figures, my pictures are rather busy; my two favourite artists are Monet and Lowry”, Joy explains.

Altaras has exhibited in many galleries, mostly in Manchester and London and has won awards at the Yorkshire Show, the Laing Exhibitions and the Mall Galleries of Women Artists. She is currently a member of the Altrincham Art Society.
