HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL DAY AT MANCHESTER JEWISH MUSEUM
JANUARY 27TH 2011 1.15-3.00 PM
The theme of Holocaust Memorial Day is “Untold Stories”. Stories that have not received wide coverage, and deserve to be told. Our main speaker this year is Noemie Lopian. Noemie is the daughter of Ernst Israel Bornstein who was born in Poland and survived seven camps before being liberated in April 1945. Noemie will tell his story and how he made a new life for himself after liberation.
Education Officer Jeremy Michelson will shed some light on a phenomenon that is hardly ever mentioned of Muslim help for Jews during the Holocaust. Research has brought to light the stories of 72 Righteous Muslims who rescued Jews.
