But being a Museum Patron is not about what you get; it's what you offer the Museum. The support we receive from our Patrons goes towards preserving Manchester's Jewish heritage and educating children about Jewish faith and culture.

Summer Events Programme for 'Best Friends' & 'Patrons':

Israeli Wine Tasting Evening - Weds 22 May, 8pm

MJM ‘Best Friends’ and ‘Patrons’ are invited to an exclusive wine tasting evening with Yaakov Bruck, wine consultant and purchaser for Halpern’s. Yaakov will be selecting a range of kosher wines from wineries he has visited in Israel. As an Israeli wine expert, Yaakov will be talking about grape types, unique terroir and winemaking methods and will give a brief history of modern day winemaking in Israel. He will also explain what makes a wine ‘kosher’. A fun, relaxing evening where you’re bound to learn something new to impress friends and family!

 

Private viewing of Tate Liverpool's exhibition, 'Chagall: Modern Master' - Thurs 6 June, Tate Liverpool

MJM 'Best Friends' and 'Patrons' are invited to the private viewing of Tate Liverpool's major Chagall show, two days before it officially opens to the public.

 

VIP Exhibition Opening of 'Chagall, Soutine & the School of Paris' - Thurs 20 June, 7:30pm

MJM 'Best Friends' and 'Patrons' are invited to this exclusive VIP exhibition opening. A marquee reception will be held in the Museum gardens to celebrate the new exhibition. Drinks and canapes will be served with live music and speeches by art collector, Frank Cohen, and Chief Executive of the Ben Uri Gallery, David Glasser. On top of all this, you will be amongst the first to see this major new exhibtiion, which showcases work by some of the most famous Jewish artists in history, including Marc Chagall and Chaim Soutine.

 

Free entry to all Chagall themed events this Summer (June-Sept)

Throughout the Summer, MJM will be staging a packed programme of events based around the 'Chagall, Soutine & the School of Paris' exhibition. MJM 'Best Friends' and 'Patrons' are invited to all these events for free*. Events include talks by curators from Tate Liverpool and the Ben Uri Gallery, talks by art historians, Michael Howard and Monica Bohm-Duchen and an international arts conference at Manchester Metropolitan University, entitled 'Jews & Modern Visual Culture'**. MJM 'Best Friends' and 'Patrons' also receive free entry to related talks at Manchester Art Gallery on the 18th July and 15th August, For details on all events click here,
