‘When Saira met Sarah’ is a literature event, with readings from an e- book of short stories and poetry by Muslim and Jewish women. These are competition winners, mostly without previous published writing. The works are sad, emotional and humorous. They give brief insights and reflections into the lives of Muslim and Jewish women. There is also a reading from the popular local authoress, Sherry Ashworth, who together with the celebrated poetess, Anjum Malik, devised and supported the project.
