Cheetham Park: A Celebration featuring Sacred Sounds Women’s Choir

Celebrating the 130th anniversary of Cheetham Park with an afternoon of free exhibitions, talks, walks and music!

Sacred SoundsThe celebration starts at 2pm at MJM, with the screening of a new film about Cheetham Park. A small exhibition will also be on display about the history of local parks in the area.

At 3pm MJM artist in residence, Torange Khonsari, will be unveiling her new artwork inspired by political banners and the park’s natural resources. Torange will then lead a walk from the museum to Cheetham Park (10 min walk).

Local craft clubs will be in the park demonstrating a range of traditional crafts from weaving to embroidery – and encouraging everyone to have a go!

The afternoon’s grand finale will be a performance in the park by the Sacred Sounds Women’s Choir.

2pm – Film screening at Manchester Jewish Museum

3pm – Walk from MJM to Cheetham Park

3-5pm – Craft clubs in the Park

5pm – Sacred Sounds Women’s Choir in the Park
