1st September: FAMILY FRIENDLY EVENT – Happy Jewish New Year

Did you know that Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year is celebrated in September this year? At a fun-filled afternoon you can learn how this festival is celebrated.

Eating apples dipped in honey and blowing the shofar are important features of Rosh Hashanah. We invite you to design your own stained glass shofar and create 3D models of apples and honey.

Then at 1:10 you can enjoy a story. We will tell you about "The Mystery of the Two Shofars". Find out how Rabbi Yom Tov decided which of his two favourite shofars he should blow on Rosh Hashanah.

At 2:00pm we’ll tell you why it is so important to blow the Shofar on Rosh Hashanah. And we’ll even follow this up with a Shofar blowing demonstration.

Sunday 1stSeptember 1:00pm to 3:30pm Admission is free.
