18th February – FAMILY FRIENDLY: Festival of Purim, storytelling and crafts.

At the end of February Jewish people will be celebrating the festival of Purim. Long, long ago in Persia Queen Esther and her Uncle Mordechai helped save the Jewish people from the hands of the wicked Haman who wanted to destroy all of them.

At our Family Friendly afternoon on Monday February 18thyou can bring along your children to join in a Purim themed afternoon.

There will be a story telling session in which they will be told the full story of Purim.

There will be a craft session in which children can make their own noisy “Purim Greggers”. (These are rattles to shake to drown out the sound of the name “Haman”)Or they can colour in pictures of Queen Esther.

There will be the chance for little ones to dress up in our Purim themed costumes as characters from the story, including Queen Esther herself.

This is sure to be a fun filled afternoon.
